You have TWO acid zones
The pH of a substance refers to how acidic or alkaline it is. a pH of seven is neutral, a pH above seven is alkaline, while everything below seven is acidic. The further the pH is from 7, the stronger the acid or alkali. An acid with a pH of 3 is therefore much stronger than an acid with a pH of 6. Similarly, an alkali with a pH of 9 is much stronger than an alkali with a pH of 7.5. To give you some perspective: the pH of pure lime juice is 3.5, while the pH of plain water is around 7.
Your body also has a pH - actually several. The pH inside your stomach is by far the lowest, from 1.5 to 3.5 - which is very strong acid. However, the pH of the rest of your digestive tract such as your mouth, esophagus and intestinal tract is between 5 and just under seven, and is therefore only slightly acidic. However, the pH of your ileum (just before your colon) is alkaline, at 8. The pH of your blood and the rest of your body is only slightly alkaline, namely 7.3 to 7.4.

So: pH in your body is not the same everywhere.
LIST OF ALKALINE AND ACID FOODS

Another thing you can conclude from the two tables is that you broadly have two pH zones: your acidic digestive tract and the rest of your body that is 'serviced' by your blood and therefore predominantly slightly alkaline. The two systems work optimally if their different pH's remain constant. An ingenious system of buffers keeps it that way ... until things go wrong.
